Obituary of Donna Arnold Phillips

Donna Marie Arnold Phillips, 67, wife of James Curtis Phillips, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 7, 2017 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

Born on September 27, 1949, in Petersburg, VA, she was a daughter of the late James Bryant Arnold and the late Doris Elizabeth DeKay West. Mrs. Phillips was a member of Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church. As an artist, Mrs. Phillips and her husband founded Island Sign Company in 1980 where they had the opportu...nity to serve Pawleys Island and the surrounding areas for 37 years. Sharing in her love and operating the family business, her daughter is continuing her legacy. Mrs. Phillips was a professional artist and enjoyed singing and spending time with her family. She had a great love for her community and always enjoyed life. She had a positive attitude and a loving smile that could brighten anyone’s day!

Survivors include her husband of Pawleys Island; three children, Tina Phillips Wise of Georgetown, Juli Phillips Gault (Patrick) of Mt. Pleasant and James Curtis Phillips, Jr. (Jessica) of Pawleys Island; one step daughter, Aimee Avery of Prince George, VA; six grandchildren, Forrest Phillips, Hunter Wise, Buchanan Gault, Sarah Allston Phillips, Emily Phillips and Fischer Phillips; one step granddaughter, Katie Lucy (Jon) of Baskerville, VA; one brother, James Bryant Arnold (Brana) of Myrtle Beach; one sister, Wendy Liles of Columbia; one step sister, Cheryl McLean (Ron) of Virginia Beach, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her step father, Richard L. West.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Friday, August 11, 2017 at Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church.

Friends are invited to a reception following the service at the church and other times at the home of her son, 227 Shore Rush Dr. Pawleys Island, SC 29585.
