Obituary of Virginia Ackerman Cooper

Virginia Lee Ackerman Cooper, 78, widow of Murphy Emanuel Cooper, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017 at her home. Born on April 24, 1938, in Charleston County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Lawrence Ackerman and the late Bertha Mae Gaskins Ackerman. Mrs. Cooper was a member of Georgetown First Assembly of God and was retired from Georgetown Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed crocheting and gardening. Survivors include two sisters, Bertha Elizabeth Blakely of McClellanville and Alice Pauline Cooper of Georgetown; two brothers, James Theodore Ackerman (Virginia) of Jacksonville, FL and William Campbell Ackerman of Charleston; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Phillip Ackerman, Larry “Junior” Ackerman and Robert Edward Ackerman. A memorial service will be held at 4 PM Monday, March 20, 2017 at Georgetown First Assembly of God with Rev. Dave Hoskins officiating.
