Obituary of Joseph M George

Joseph Mathias George, III, 84, husband of Mary George, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Born on February 18, 1940, in Baltimore City, MD, he was the son of the late Joseph M. George II and the late Eleanor Frances Hopkins George. Survivors include his wife of Pawleys Island; six children, Joseph M. George, IV (Wendy), Brooke McCauley, John George (Gloria), Samuel George, Caitlin Johnson (Patrick) and Nate George; a stepson, Vinny Wang (Jean Zhang); nine grandchildren, Noah George, Bobby McCauley, Hannah George, Cole George, Caleb George, Taylor George, Colby George, Luke Johnson, and Jake Johnson; five sisters, Margaret “Peggy” Quimby, Pat Meyers, Lyn Jefferson, Jan DeCorte and June Bullion (Clyde); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Christopher George; a grandson, Brian McCauley; and a son-in-law, Bob McCauley. Services will be private.
