Obituary of Rosa Michau

Rosa Lee Nettles Michau, 70, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Born on February 21, 1953, in Beaufort, she was a daughter of the late James E. Nettles and the late Miriam Louise Woods. She was a member of Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church and attended Georgetown Church of God. Ms. Michau worked for many years in housekeeping services, most recently retiring from Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed traveling to the mountains, shelling pecans, fishing, cleaning, cooking, and being with her family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include three children, Christine M. McCants (Greg) of Georgetown, Marie Michau-McDonald (Joni) of Ashland, KY and Jamie Michau of Georgetown; five grandchildren, Bailey McCants, Drake McCants, Brent Unrue, Sierra Unrue and Hunter Michau all of Georgetown; four sisters, Ann Benton of Summerville, Ottie Mae Plumb of North Charleston, Alice Christianson (Dean) of Summerville and Beth Mizzell of North Charleston; one brother, John Nettles (Dana) of Goose Creek; neighborhood friends, Donna and CL; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a special friend, Ronnie Elliott; the father of her children, William Wayne Michau; and a brother, Randal Nettles. A funeral service will be held at 4 PM Saturday, November 25, 2023, at the Georgetown Church of God. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday at Georgetown Church of God. Memorials may be made to Tidelands Community Hospice, 2591 N. Fraser St. Georgetown, SC 29440.
