Obituary of Marion Glenn Harter

Marion Glenn Harter, 74, passed away Friday, June 2, 2023, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Born on May 19, 1949, in Florence, he was a son of the late Marion Alford Harter and the late Christine Kay Kiker Harter. Mr. Harter retired from Georgetown Steel Mill and then went on to work as a mechanic for many years. He enjoyed drag racing and spending time with his family and his friend Donis Necaise. Survivors include five children, Glenda Harter (Edward Thompson), Kevin Harter (Jessica Britt), Chandler Harter, Tyler Harter and Spencer Harter all of Georgetown; five grandchildren, Ashley Lambert (Bobby Howard), Holden Harter (Cameron Jones), Kinsley Harter, Gavin Harter and Kayson Harter; a great-grandchild, Brayton Howard and two other great-grandchildren on the way; one sister, Shirley Cribb (O'Neil) of Georgetown; one brother, Randy Harter of Socastee. He was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce McConnell. Services will be private.
