Obituary of Dustin Eugene Swails

Dustin Eugene Swails, 27, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at The Medical University of South Carolina. Born on December 2, 1993, in Georgetown, he was a son of Robin Ann West Swails and Jonathan Eugene Swails. Dustin was a former member of North Hampton Baptist Church and the Oak Grove Hunting Club. He had a great love for the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Dustin lived life to the fullest and was a fighter of great strength to the very end. Survivors include his mother, Robin Ann West Swails (Shawn Russ) of Georgetown; father, Jonathan Eugene Swails of Georgetown; two children, Evan Hunter Swails and Kayleigh Sophia Tilton both of Georgetown; a brother, Cliffton Cox (Amanda) of Georgetown; two sisters, Kacie Elise Swails (Pierre Marsh) and Krysta Gayle Swails all of Georgetown; two nieces, Lilyana Cox and Abigail Flowers; five nephews, Caiden Cox, Corbyn Cox, Adam Mitchell, Bentley Swails and Pierre Levon "PJ" Marsh, Jr.; paternal grandmother, Mary Swails of Georgetown; maternal grandmother, Gayle Jayroe; two uncles, Richard Jayroe and James Swails (Hope) all of Georgetown; seven cousins, Sandie Johnson (Ryan), O’Brian Swails (Chika), David Goude (Ashley), Hailey Swails, Faith Swails, Elizabeth Swails and Lizzy Swails; and the mothers of his children, Kayla Tilton and Tina Ledford. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Bobby Jayore; paternal grandfather, Vernon Swails; maternal great grandmother, Barbara Jean Hughes; maternal great grandfather, Cliffton Bass; paternal great grandparents, Marion and Azalee Swails; and a cousin, Aryn Swails. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Holy Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday at Holy Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church.
