Obituary of James Edward Wilson

James Edward Wilson, 77, beloved husband of Frances Margie Wilson, passed away Friday, April 23, 2021. Born on November 18, 1943, in Georgetown County, he was a son of the late David Tillman Wilson and the late Queen Esther Wilson Ward. Mr. Wilson was a US Army veteran, having served in the Vietnam War, an unforgettable time that he often reminisced about with family and friends. He was a member of Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church where he was a part of the Adult Bible Sunday school class and enjoyed helping with Bible school. Mr. Wilson retired from International Paper Company after 40 year of service and went on to spend another 8 years as a contractor. Mr. Wilson had a great love for farming, and enjoyed spending time on his tractor, tending to his crops and taking care of his cows, hogs and chickens. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and run dogs, a sound he loved to hear. His other favorite past times were shad fishing, bream fishing and sitting in his truck listening to blue grass music. Above all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren, teaching them about farming, hunting, fishing and the facts about life. Survivors include his wife of Georgetown; three children, Tressa Wilson, Jamie Wilson (Holly) and Kevin "Moonpie" Lambert (Carol) all of Georgetown; nine grandchildren, Angel Howard, Melanie Thomas, Seth Thomas (Ally), Kinslee Wilson, Camlin Cusack, Arden Cusack, Torie Cooper, Brandon McCutcheon and Zach Lambert; eight great grandchildren, Cole Howard, Zoey Howard, Lila Howard, Cayden Cribb, Maggie Cribb, Diamond Cooper, Rivers Cooper and Hayden Wilkins; three sisters, Mary Cox (Bobby) of Andrews, Kitty McCants of Sumter and Elaine Hutson (Dreyfus) of Sumter; six brothers, Bobby Wilson (Bertha Mae) of Georgetown, Leroy Ward (Patricia) of Georgetown, Glen Ward (Patsy) of Andrews, Charles Ward (Linda) of Goose Creek Kenneth Ward (Lynn) of California and Nuel Wilson (Kitty) of Germany; one brother in law, Clevie Lambert (Norma) of Andrews; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a step-father, Clemons Ward; six sisters, Patsy Hutson, Linda Wilson, Louise Powell, Mecie Milner, Gertrude Thomas and Dorothy Lee; and five brothers, Phillip Wilson, Steve Wilson, David Wilson, Rocky Ward and Everett Ward Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Monday, April 26, 2021 at Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will follow in the Lambert Cemetery. The family will receive friends starting at 5 PM Sunday.
