Obituary of Barbara Worbass Grayson

Barbara Worbass Grayson, passed away peacefully May 10, 2020 at the home of her daughter Debbie Bone. Born on June 14, 1930, in Newark, New Jersey to Raymond Kingman Worbass and Nellie Langley. Survivors include 3 children, Debbie Bone (Andrew) of Surfside, Sammy Grayson of Georgetown, and Carol Williams (Ben) of Georgetown; 6 grandchildren, William Grayson Stone, Keenan Grayson Harn (Jason), Wilson deGraffenried Grayson, Bengie Williams (Lynn), Ashley Williams Carey (Brent), Patrick Williams, and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by the love of her life of 68 years, “Sam” Grayson. Her father, Raymond Worbass, her mother, Nellie Hazelton and her sister, Lilla Fiddie. Mrs. Grayson worked alongside her husband at Sam’s Office Supplies until her retirement at which time she wholeheartedly embraced being home and enjoying her flowers. She loved to sit on the porch in the mornings and watch the birds which she made sure were fed too. She loved having the grandchildren over to spoil in any way she could. Mrs. Grayson loved her church and her community. She cherished each and every friend and enjoyed baking for them. Christmas was a favorite time for her to bake and deliver those baked goods to her friends and neighbors. She always had something on the stove and plenty of food for whoever stopped by and supper had to be on the table at 5:00. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her. Graveside services will be Thursday, May 14, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Tidelands Community Hospice, 2591 N. Fraser St. Georgetown, SC 29440. Ridgeway Funeral Home of Georgetown is in charge of the arrangements. (843)485-4242.
