Obituary of Irene R. Barnhill

Irene Elizabeth Roberts Barnhill, 83, widow of Rupert Barnhill, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2020 at her home. Born on February 26, 1937, in Georgetown County, she was the daughter of the late Travis Roberts and the late Nellie Jacobs Roberts. Mrs. Barnhill attended Eastside Free Will Baptist Church of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith and was a former owner of the Winyah One Stop. Mrs. Barnhill had a great love for shopping and working in her yard. Along with being a strong woman, Mrs. Barnhill was a loving and sweet person who will be missed by all who loved her. Survivors include one brother, Jackie A. Roberts (Catherine Ward) of Georgetown; five nieces, Teresa Roberts of Georgetown, Debbie Humphries (Jay) of Florence, Karen Casselman (JW) of Andrews, Kathy Roberts of St. Stephens and Addie Lynch (Paul) of New York; and two nephews, Tony Roberts (Rhonda) of Pawleys Island and James Roberts of Alabama. She was preceded in death by a step son, Danny Barnhill; and two brothers, Winfred Roberts and Travis Roberts. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. A graveside service will be held at 3 PM Saturday, April 11, 2020 in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
