Obituary of Marian Roff Jordan

Marian Roff Jordan, 67, beloved wife of Norman Cleo Jordan, Jr., passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

Born on August 26, 1951, in Marietta, GA, she was a daughter of the late William Dorah Roff and the late Jeanne Elizabeth Wilson Roff. Mrs. Jordan was a member of First Baptist Church in Georgetown and the Lide Williams Sunday School Class. She was a former member of Bloomingvale Baptist Church and found great joy in serving the Lord through teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, serving as a youth director, directing Vacation Bible School and serving as an Operation Christmas Child year-round volunteer.

Mrs. Jordan was a retired school teacher having taught for 31 years in Williamsburg County and Georgetown County Schools. She was like a second mother to many of her children’s friends, as well to the students in her classroom. Mrs. Jordan enjoyed the simple things in life such as being on the water, reading, playing cards and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband of Andrews; five children, Terrijane Russ of Andrews, Molly Tisdale (Don) of Kingstree, Todd Jordan (Misty) of Georgetown, Matthew Jordan (Kimberly) of Georgetown and Joshua Jordan of Greenville; 10 grandchildren, Chloe, Shawn David (Madison), Annelyn, Charlie, Jasper, Ira, Hazel, Carly, Bailee and Ansleigh; one great grandchild, Evelyn; three sisters, Cile Watters of Andrews, Bet Roff (Brian) of CA and Sally Stasiek (Bill) of Goose Creek; two brothers, Bill Roff (Elaine) of Johns Island and Harry Roff (Josie) of St. Stephens; numerous nieces and nephews; and honorary mother to many.

She was preceded in death by two children, Trey Jordan and Michael Jordan; and one grandchild, Katey Tisdale.

Funeral services will be held at 4 PM Friday, May 24, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Georgetown with Dr. Ted Sherrill officiating. Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends from 2 PM – 3:30 PM Friday in the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
