Obituary of James M. Tynch

James M. “John” Tynch, 80, widower of Ethel Miller Walker, passed away Friday, March 1, 2019.

Born on March 22, 1938, Edenton, NC, he was a son of the late James R. Tynch and the late Ada Brown Ingraham. Mr. Tynch was a member of Calvary Free Will Baptist Church where he served as a trustee. He enjoyed spending time with his family, going to church and fishing.

Survivors include six children, James M. Tynch, Jr. (Doris) of Edenton, NC, Johnny M. Tynch of Hertford, NC, Shirley Jane Madry (Mel) of Edenton, NC, Reba T. Smith of Hertford, NC, L. Becky Tynch of Florence, Jamie T. Howell (Charlie) of Georgetown; ten grandchildren, April, Heather, Cody, Bradley, Lawson, Lee Lee, Maddi, Gracie, Kimmy and Malachi; two great grandchildren, Tyler and Lucas; one brother, Timmie Tynch (Karen) of Edenton, NC; one sister in law, Charlene Tynch of Edenton, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by five sisters; and one brother.

Funeral Services will be held at 3PM Monday, March 4, 2019 at Calvary Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will be in Edenton, NC.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM Monday at Calvary Free Will Baptist Church.
