Obituary of Linwood Charles Goings

Linwood Charles Goings, 68, husband of Marcia West Goings, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

Born on March 7, 1950, in Georgetown, he was a son of the late Joseph Madrick Goings and the late Eva Small Goings. Mr. Goings was a GAMECOCK fan and enjoyed NASCAR, fishing and spending time with his family. He was of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include his wife of Georgetown; one daughter, Michelle Goings of Georgetown; two grandchildren, Summer Lynn Goings and Savannah Jolie Ard both of Georgetown; four sisters, Susan Turner (David) of Andrews, Agnes McCaw of Suffolk, VA, Doris Poston of Georgetown and Jennifer Harrelson (Donnie) of Georgetown; two sisters in law, Marie Goings of Georgetown and Sandra Smith (Myron) of Georgetown; one brother in law, John Henry Elliott, Sr. of Georgetown; two special aunts, Jean Goins and Joyce Ann Walker both of Georgetown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Joe Goings, Sam Goings, Earl Goings, John Goings, LC Goings; two sisters, Frances Sanders and Linda Elliott; three brothers in law, Mickie Poston, Willard Sanders and Tim McCaw; and four sisters in law, Ann Goings, Alice Goings and Frances Goings.

A memorial service will be held at 3 PM Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Calvary Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. James A. McElveen and Rev. Billy Anderson officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM Sunday, at the church.
