Obituary of Betty Jo Eaddy Ray

Betty Jo Eaddy Ray, 84, widow of Dan Ray, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at her home.

Born on November 3, 1933, in Hemingway, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Gregory Eaddy and the late Florence Mabel Hannah Eaddy. Mrs. Ray was a member of First Baptist Church and the Ruth Sunday School Class and spent many days leading a Bible Study at Morningside Assisted Living. She was well known in the Georgetown area for decorating cakes and enjoyed baking and gardening.

Survivors include four children, Kenneth Wayne Ray (Jenny) of Hemingway, Marsha Kreisle (Wally) of Ownesboro, KY, Cynthia Lynn Goins (Horace) of Georgetown and Dan Ray (Linda) of Georgetown; 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; one sister, Mabeline B. Evans of Johnsonville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by eight brothers, Spigner Eaddy, Frank Eaddy, Danny Eaddy, JW Eaddy, Nedo "Bubba" Eaddy, Wyman Eaddy, Hoyt Eaddy and David Eaddy; and four sisters, Florence Eaddy, Maudine Eaddy, Hazel Staver and Emmie Bell Brown.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, March 31, 2018 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Ted Sherrill officiating. A graveside service will follow 1:30 PM in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday at First Baptist Church.
