Obituary of Dwight Wallie Thomas

Dwight Wallie Thomas, 69, husband of Deborah Lambert Thomas, passed away Monday, August 7, 2017 at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center.

Born on February 28, 1948, in Georgetown, he was a son of the late John Wallie Thomas and the late Udline Lambert Thomas Causey. Mr. Thomas was a United States Army Veteran having served in the Vietnam War as a medic. He was retired from International Paper Company and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of Georgetown; three children, Gwen Hardee (Sam) of Georgetown, Neil Thomas of Georgetown and Haley Burroughs (Joseph) of Georgetown; seven grandchildren, Katelynn Hardee, Lee Hardee, MaKayla Thomas, Allison Thomas, Graham Thomas, Emory Burroughs and Ethan Burroughs; one sister, Kathy Larson of Georgetown; one brother, Brad Thomas of Georgetown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Naydean Sims.

A graveside service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, August 10, 2017 in the Lambert Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday at Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church
