Obituary of Jimmie Alonzo Johnson, Jr.

Jimmie A. “Al” Johnson, Jr., 65, husband of Wanda June Wilder Johnson, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Roper St. Francis Mt. Pleasant Hospital.

Born on February 24, 1953, in Georgetown, he was a son of Helen Richburg Johnson and the late Jimmie A. Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a member of First Baptist Church and the Eastern Surfing Association. He loved spending time outdoors and enjoyed surfing, fishing, hunting and most of all spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda June Wilder Johnson of Pawleys Island; mother, Helen Richburg Johnson of Georgetown; one daughter, Bridget Nicole Johnson (O' Neill Samtmann) of Pawleys Island; one brother, Ray Johnson (Sandra) of Georgetown; one niece, Rebekah Johnson of Georgetown; a nephew, Josh Johnson (Kara) of Pontiac; two great nieces, Madelynn Johnson and Allison Johnson both of Pontiac; one great nephew, Michael Johnson of Pontiac; and his beloved Maltipoo, Dudley.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Cynthia Maurice "Cindy" Johnson.

Funeral Services will be held at 3 PM Saturday, September 8, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Georgetown. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM Saturday at First Baptist Church in Georgetown.
