Winifred “Wini” James Long Harmon, 66, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2015 at Tidelands Community Hospice House.
Born on October 22, 1948, in Marion, she was the daughter of the late Rupert Fulton James and the late Virginia Collins James. Mrs. Harmon attended Wayne United Methodist Church where she played the piano and formerly attended Trinity United Methodist Church where she served as the church pianist. She graduated from Winthrop University and was a paraprofessional with Marion School District 1 and Georgetown County School District. Mrs. Harmon taught piano lessons for more than 30 years and enjoyed Christian music and reading her Bible.
Survivors include two children, Jennifer Long Perkins and Spencer Long (Kristen) all of Georgetown; four grandchildren, Jessica E. Perkins, Cameron T. Perkins, Jackson S. Long and Bevan C. Long all of Georgetown; one brother, Russell James (Teresa) of Florence; one nephew, Zak James of Charleston; and one aunt, Ellen H. Field of Marion.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Monday, June 15, 2015 in Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion with Rev. Danny Chamblee officiating.
The family will receive friends from 3-5 PM Sunday at Ridgeway Funeral Home in Georgetown.
