Winford Reid Wiggins, 80, widower of Blanche Elwood Baxley Wiggins, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Born on March 5, 1937, in Georgetown, he was a son of the late Herman Wiggins and the late Sadie Ray Wiggins. Mr. Wiggins was a US Army veteran and a member of Maryville Pentecostal Holiness Church. He retired from Georgetown Steel Mill after more than 30 years of service and enjoyed fishing, working with wood and helping his family.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Wynn Wiggins of Greenville and Jeffrey Wiggins of Georgetown; two grandchildren, Tiffany W. Lowell (Ryan) of Georgetown and Brittany M. Wiggins of Georgetown; one great grandchild, Stella Kate Lowell of Georgetown; two sisters, Janie Dean of Johnsonville and Anne Thomas of Georgetown; one brother, Ashley James Wiggins of Jamestown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Eula Mae Brady and Gloria Cooper; and one brother, Little Bubba Wiggins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Maryville Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Tommy Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
