Willie McAlister, 85, widower of Magdalene Davis McAlister, passed away Monday, December 5, 2016 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Born on March 14, 1931, he was a son of the late Ernest McAlister and the late Lura Hammonds McAlister. Mr. McAlister was a member of Ringel Heights Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Survivors include nine children, Juanita Garner (Freddy) of Greenville, Annette Ashley (Jimmy) of Honea Path, Frank McAlister (Connie) of Townville, Laura Owens (Harvey) of Georgetown, Robert McAlister (Beckie) of Georgetown, Johnny McAlister (Nancy) of Andrews, Lisa Turner (Brian) of Georgetown, Rusty McAlister (Heather) of Lancaster and Ricky McAlister of Georgetown; 27 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; three brothers, Melvin McAlister (Magalene) of Belton; Thomas McAlister (Tammy) of Newberry and Adger McAlister (Peggy) of Little Mountain; one sister, Mildred Umphrey (Coley) of Savannah, TN; a number of nieces and nephews; and three special friends, Ben “Cap” Ward, Danny Pittman and Harry Reynolds
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Alvin McAlister, Wayne “Butch” McAlister and James McAlister; and two sisters, Mae Poole and Ida Campbell
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Ringel Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Rusty McAlister and Rev. Kenny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 11 AM – 1 PM Wednesday at Ringel Heights Baptist Church.
