Willa Swails Jenkins

Willa Swails Jenkins, 92, widow of George Jenkins, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at MUSC. Mrs. Jenkins was born on March 29, 1931, in Andrews she was a daughter of the late James Acue Swails and the late Waver French Parsons Swails. She was a pillar of Andrews First Baptist Church, where she devoted her time to serving in the youth department, Keenagers and various committees. Mrs. Jenkins’ dedication to her faith shone through in the morning bible study group she hosted in her home for over 30 years. Willa's legacy of love, compassion, and service will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a community that she enriched with her presence and a family who cherished her beyond words. Survivors include two sons, Wayne Jenkins of Surfside Beach and Gregg Jenkins (Belinda) of Andrews; two grandchildren, Travis Jenkins (Erin) of St. Matthews and Lauren Schafer (Kirk) of Lenoir, NC; one great-grandchild, Owen Smith; two sisters, Cynthia Boland of North Augusta and Windola Pitts of Andrews; a daughter from another mother, Nancy Swinnie of Andrews; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Bob Jenkins; five siblings, J.A. Swails, Imo Cantley, Lendel McCrea, Hartwell Swails and Rena Mobley. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Andrews First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM Friday at the church.
