Wayne Haywood Jordan, Sr.

Wayne Haywood Jordan, Sr., 80, passed away peacefully Friday, February 28, 2025, at his son’s home.

Born on March 9, 1944, in Georgetown, he was a son of the late Allen Jordan, Sr. and the late Mable Jacobs Jordan. Mr. Jordan spent his life working as a commercial fisherman, a career that was more like a hobby to him. Along with fishing, Mr. Jordan enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. 

Survivors include three children, Wayne H. Jordan, Jr. of Pawleys Island, Christopher Allen Jordan (Paula) of Kansas City, MO and Tracy Renee Guthrie of Fayetteville, NC; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Greenleaf (Harry) of Florence; the mother of his children, Julia Hinkle of Pawleys Island and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, Dale Howell, Margie Strain, Carol Evans and Glenda Lawshe; and four brothers, Hubert Jordan, Sr., Allen Jordan, Jr., Moldon Jordan and Lenwood Jordan.

An inurnment service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, March 13, 2025, in Elmwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the graveside following the service.
