Victoria Marie Koster Stih, 89, widow of Donald Charles Stih, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2024, at The Landings of Georgetown.
Born on January 17, 1935, in Peru, IL, she was the daughter of the late Victor Koster and Mary Koster. Mrs. Stih grew up on a farm in Illinois and after graduating high school, she went on to attend secretarial school. She later met her husband, Donald Charles Stih, and the two were married on June 1, 1957, in LaSalle, IL. After getting married, the couple moved to Birmingham, AL and in 1971 they moved to Georgetown, where they raised their four children. Mrs. Stih worked as a secretary at Winyah High School and was the office manager/secretary at a local law firm. After retirement, Mrs. Stih worked at Maryville Elementary School.
Mrs. Stih was an avid reader, as well as a talented artist who enjoyed creating crafts with her husband, who was an expert wood worker. In her early years, she was a skilled seamstress and always enjoyed sewing. Mrs. Stih loved her afternoon walks on Georgetown’s Boardwalk and Front Street with her beloved pets. She was a member of St. Mary, Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church.
Survivors include four children, David Stih of Apex, NC, Jimmy Stih (Paige) of Pawleys Island, Jack Stih of Georgetown and Judy Hair (Brady) of North Charleston; three grandchildren, Shelby McElrath (Ben), Kyle Hair (Kelsey) and Daniel Hair; one great grandchild, Charlie McElrath; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be private.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Landings of Georgetown, Memory Care Unit and Tidelands Community Hospice, for the loving care and support they provided.
