Stephen Louis White, aged 75, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at his home in Alpharetta, GA.
Stephen was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on February 26, 1948, to Louis White and Margie Jewel (Rush) Powell. At the young age of 17, Stephen enlisted in the U.S. Navy as Special Forces Operator, specializing in ground and under-sea demolition. The Navy took him to many parts of the world, including two tours in Vietnam and service on the aircraft carrier USS Franklin D. Roosevelt.
After leaving the Navy, Stephen settled in Jacksonville, Florida, where he married the late Carolynn Ann White. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ first and foremost, and his goal in life was to make heaven his home. Throughout his life, he was an active member of the United Pentecostal Church at various locations including, Apostolic Life Temple, and Eastwood Pentecostal Church, both in Lake Charles, LA, and the Church of Pentecost in Jacksonville, Florida. He was a member of the choir, a soloist, Sunday School teacher Bible Study teacher, and home group leader. He continued his service to the Lord as the Head Usher and General Board Member at Founding Faith Worship Center in Alpharetta, Georgia.
Stephen was known for his wit, humor, compassion, generosity, and loving heart. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid knife collector. He also loved to cook on occasion and was rightly proud of his delicious chicken and shrimp jambalaya. He also baked a very nice carrot cake! Stephen’s departure leaves a void in our hearts.
Stephen was a beloved as a Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Betty “ Carol” Lambert White; his stepfather, Carl Powell; his son, Chad Anthony (Amy) Alexander; his daughter, Heather Lynn Speare; his sisters, Alrita Saucier and Anna (Roger) Austin; his brothers: Roger (Linda) Powell, Edward (Donna) Powell, Randall (Ana) Powell; Grandchildren: Reagan (Garrett) Pankey, Tanner Alexander, Morgan Alexander, Cruz Alexander, Reese Alexander; Great Grandson, Kendall Lampley; Great Granddaughter to arrive in December Dani Kay, and many nieces and nephews. He is dearly loved and remembered by the Lambert family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his former wife of 25 years, Carolynn Ann White.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at First Baptist Church Georgetown. Entombment will follow in the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
