Shelby Jean Lambert Hocutt

Shelby Casselman Lambert Hocutt, 82, widow of Walter Hocutt, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023, at NHC in Murrells Inlet. Born on August 6, 1940, in Kingstree, she was a daughter of the late Oden Casselman and the late Mildred Hayes Casselman. Mrs. Hocutt worked at Gene Ward’s Country Store for many years and enjoyed baking cakes, cooking, and being around her family. In her younger years, Mrs. Hocutt lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed making others laugh. Survivors include two children, Melody Welch and Charles William Lambert both of Georgetown; three grandchildren, April Zakis (Lee) of Georgetown, Lori Hammond (Kenny) of Georgetown and Allison Welch (Austin Plogman) of Georgetown; four great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Bartleson (Dakota) of Andrews, Lilly Britt of Georgetown, Davin Hammond of Georgetown and Bailee Hammond of Georgetown; two sisters, Pearl Rowell of Trio and Barbara Thornell (Bobby) of Andrews; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Larry Welch; and a brother-in-law, Victor Rowell. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Friday, June 2, 2023, in Andrews Memorial Cemetery.
