Sara Johnson

Sara Johnson, 75, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at her sister’s home. Born on May 30, 1948, in Georgetown, she was a daughter of the late Liston Johnson and the late Rozine “Boots” Haselden Johnson. Ms. Johnson was a member of North Hampton Baptist Church and was retired from Gene Ward’s Country Store. She enjoyed traveling to the mountains, going to festivals and playing cards. Survivors include two sons, Liston Ray Barton (Lisa) and Donald Barton (Dawn); grandchildren, Nicholas Barton, Nick Gailey (Melody), Heather Moree (Patrick), Caroline Barton and Hannah Witherspoon (Ryan); great-grandchildren, Maddex, Mylah, Kaidence, Landen, Ryder and Dawson; three sisters, Tangie Self (Lamar), Suzette Fowler (David “Mic”) and Fran Johnson (Dixie Moore); two brothers, Curtis Johnson (Rita) and Billy Joe Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Buddy Johnson; and three sisters, Peggy Gaskins, Rose Altman and Sheryl Johnson. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM on Friday, March 29, 2024, at North Hampton Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
