Richard C. “Dickie” Oliver, 75, of Georgetown, passed away peacefully at home April 1, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was a son of the late E. C. Oliver and Geneva Cribb Oliver. Dickie will be remembered for his smiling face and a helping hand working for Lawrimore & Seitter in Georgetown for more than 30 years. A lifelong Carolina Gamecocks fan, he enjoyed watching and listening to any and all sports on TV and radio. He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Helen Van Vlake Oliver; two daughters, Melanie Oliver (Michael Barnette) of Saint Petersburg, FL, and Joyce Oliver Williams, of Stony Creek, VA; four grandchildren, Dustin Williams and David Williams of Georgetown, and Taylor Williams and Wade Goins of Stony Creek, VA; and four great grandchildren, Bradley Cahill and Ella Cahill of Pawley’s Island, and Peyten Ward and Paige Ward of Stony Creek, VA. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, William Edward “Eddie” Oliver, and two sisters, Ann Oliver Brown and Jeannette Oliver Thomas. A visitation will be held from 2-4 PM Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Ridgeway Funeral, followed by a private family memorial service.
