Rhonda H. Johnson

Rhonda Horrell Johnson, 64, wife of Kenny Johnson, passed away Friday, November 1, 2024, at her home.

Born on June 22, 1960, in Burgaw, NC, she was the daughter of the late Barry Lee Horrell and the late Nadie Elizabeth Eakins Horrell. Rhonda was a vibrant presence at Ringel Heights Baptist Church, where she contributed as a former choir member and actively participated in the Sonshine Sunday school class. Her involvement extended to various women's ministries, where her faith and commitment impacted many lives. Rhonda found immense joy in being with her church family and treasured the time spent with her own family.

Rhonda found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially time spent with her loving husband camping, and spending time in the pool. She was known for her determination, independence and strength, and will be dearly missed. 

Survivors include her husband of Georgetown; son, Stephen Johnson (Emily) of Jonesville; two step children, Jeremy Johnson (Amber) of Savannah, GA and Jessica Johnson of Portland, OR; eight grandchildren, Oliver Johnson, Lydia Johnson, Samuel Johnson, Remington Johnson, Sophia Pinedo, Damian Martin, Leah Bustamante and Mia Bustamante; two brothers, Doug Horrell (Carol) of Wilmington and Michael Horrell (Erin) of Wilmington; her fur babies, Mango and Emi; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 5 PM Sunday November 3, 2024, in the Family Life Center at Ringel Heights Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM in the Family Life Center.
