Preston Spencer Micki Benton

Preston Spencer Micki Benton, 14, passed away on May 9, 2015 at his home. Born on March 6, 2001, in Florence, he was the son of Micki Gerald Benton and Vicky Lee Brazell Benton. Preston was a 7th grader at Waccamaw Middle School and was a band member. He attended Pawleys Island Community Church and the RUSH middle school ministries. Preston enjoyed playing video games and spending time outdoors. Survivors include his parents of Pawleys Island; maternal grandmother, JoAnn Hughes (Craig) of Georgetown; paternal grandfather, Melvin M. Benton, Sr. of Georgetown; four sisters, Katrina Donham (Erik) of New York, NY, Brittany Benton of Boone, NC and Charity Benton and Alexis Benton both of Pawleys Island; two uncles, Ricki Benton of Georgetown and Mack Benton of Andrews; and three aunts, Angela Benton of Florence, Amanda Godwin (Joey) of Johnsonville and Tammy Majid of Johnsonville. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Warren Lee Brazell; and paternal grandmother, Gertrude Geraldine Henning. Funeral services will be held at 4 PM Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Pawleys Island Community Church. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
