Neta Woodruff

Cornelia Jean “Neta” Ackerman Woodruff, 69, widow of Kenneth Earl Woodruff, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022, at her son’s home. Born on June 19, 1953, in Georgetown, she was a daughter of the late Cornelius Jessie Ackerman and the late Lillie Etta Michau Ackerman. Mrs. Woodruff was a member of Georgetown Church of God and enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, Harris E. Carter (Pamela Lambert) of Georgetown and Kevin Julius Carter (Lorraine Broadway) of Georgetown; five grandchildren, Jessie Carter Owens (Brian) of Columbia, Taylor Carter (Cody) of Florida, Caroline Carter Craft (Jason) of Anderson, Brandon Carter (Taylor) of Columbia and Axxel Stamey; three great grandchildren, Maylynn Carter, Julius Tillman Carter and Archie Craft; one sister, Patricia Poston of Georgetown; one brother, Roger Ackerman (Sandy) of Georgetown; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Milton Ackerman. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Georgetown Church of God. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
