Michael Elwood “Mike” Duncan, 66, husband of Wanda Wall Duncan, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024, at his home. Born on January 20, 1958, in Nuremberg, Germany, he was the son of the Elizabeth Ruth Weglehner and the late Rev. Elwood Duncan. Mike’s life was a testament to the beauty of simple pleasures and the profound impact of a generous spirit. Mike discovered his passion for music early in life. This passion led him to become the talented drummer for the Toucha Gray Band. Mike’s love for music transcended genres; he skillfully played blues, jazz, and beach music, bringing joy and inspiration to all who had the privilege of hearing him play. Beyond his musical talents, Mike was a man of few words but immense warmth and kindness. He cherished the time spent with his grandchildren, whose laughter and curiosity brought endless joy to his heart. Whether dining out with loved ones or tending to his yard, Mike found happiness in life's simple moments. Mike's legacy is one of love, humility, and generosity. He leaves behind a family who will forever miss his quiet strength and big heart. Survivors include his beloved wife of 43 years, Wanda Wall Duncan of Andrews; his mother, Elizabeth Ruth Weglehner Duncan of Andrews; two daughters, English Miller of Georgetown and Emily Duncan of Andrews; six granddaughters, Gabby Miller, Hannah Miller, Ryann Miller, Ella Claire Lambert, Charlee Miller and Eva Lambert; three sisters, Susan Swails of Georgetown, Debra Alford of Andrews and Sandy Creel of Georgetown; special friends, Oscar Wilson and Elaine Wilson of Georgetown; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 6 PM Monday, August 26, 2024, at Victory Christian Fellowship. The family will receive friends following the service.
