Mary Jean Bartlette Vitello, 83, devoted wife of 68 years to Charles Vitello, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, June 13, 2021, at McLeod Hospice House.
Born on May 3, 1938, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Oscar Joseph Bartlette and the late Eva Weeks Bartlette. Mrs. Vitello was a member of Paxville Baptist Church and was a retired hair stylist. Family was everything to her, and she will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother and caring and thoughtful “Nana”.
Survivors include her husband of Paxville; three children, Joseph Anthony “Joey” Vitello (Wanda) of Sumter, Tamie Vitello Bryan (Jay) of Summerton and Antoinette “Tonie” Vitello (Janell) of Cleveland, OH; four grandchildren, Trey Bryan (Renee) of Sumter, Jamie Bryan of Sumter, Charlene Smith of Florence and Jaela Vincent of Cleveland, OH; eight grandchildren, Bailey Ann Bryan, Jaycie Bryan, Maggie Bryan, Jamie Bryan, Jr., Katie Smith, Tyler Bryan, Emma Smith and Layla Bryan; one sister, Jo Perritt of Sumter; two sisters in law, Edith Martinez of Tampa, FL and Elanor Vitello of Lutz, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one great grandchild, Christian Nicole Bryan; and a brother-in-law, Steve Perritt.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM Wednesday, June 16, 2021, in the Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Johnson and Rev. Mark Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in the Paxville Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at Stephens Funeral Home in Manning.
