Linda Hearl Floyd, 79, widow of Delbert W. Floyd, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at her home.
Born on December 15, 1941, in Georgetown, she was a daughter of the late Richard Hearl and the late Virginia Pinner Hearl. Mrs. Floyd and her husband owned and operated Floyd’s Convenient Grocery for many years, a place that was known for her famous hot dog chili, a recipe that is still sought after by many. After her time at the store, Mrs. Floyd spent more than 30 years at Parsons Nursery. Mrs. Floyd was a member of Fireside Ministries where she was active in Ladies Ministries.
“Zoom – Zoom” as she was affectionally called, loved to be on the go and in the know and enjoyed watching the GAMECOCKS play. Mrs. Floyd was a very family-oriented person that enjoyed rocking in her rocking chair while talking with her family as well as attending family functions and gatherings. She always desired peace and harmony, and loved her family unconditionally. Mrs. Floyd was a loving mother, grandmother and sister that will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
Survivors include three children, Vickie Floyd, Ricky Floyd (Theresa) and Brian Floyd (Claire) all of Georgetown; three grandchildren, Savannah Floyd, Haven Floyd and Tristen Davis; two sisters, Sylvia Parsons and Beth Duke (Thomas) all of Georgetown; two brothers-in-law, Glenn “Hawk” Camlin, Sr. of Columbia and Jimmy Floyd, Sr. (Violet) of Andrews; one sister-in-law, Myra Floyd of Columbia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Camlin; and two brothers-in-law, Louis Parsons and Ronnie Floyd.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Fireside Ministries, 5692 S. Fraser St. Georgetown, SC 29440, with Rev. Brad Anderson and Rev. Billy Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday, July 23, 2021, at Fireside Ministries, 5692 S. Fraser St. Georgetown, SC 29440.
