Lillie Vone Edge Smith

Lillie Vone Edge Smith, 91, widow of James Howard Smith, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Prince George Healthcare Center.

Born on May 5, 1927, in Clinton, NC, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Book Edge and the late Mary Minnie Butler Edge. Mrs. Smith was a member of First Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed spending time at home working in her yard and spending time with her family.

Survivors include two children, Jay C. Strickland (Sandra) of Pawleys Island and Patsy S. Shirer of Georgetown; five grandchildren, Christopher Strickland of Pawleys Island, Jay C. Strickland, Jr. (Leslie) of Georgetown, Jimmy Strickland of Murrells Inlet, Nicole S. Poston (Ray) of Georgetown and Elizabeth Shirer of Georgetown; 8 great grandchildren, Kindal, Breanne, Bailey, Tyler, Joshua, Peyton, Chance and McKenzie; two great great grandchildren; one brother, Charles Sanford Edge (Barbara) of Charleston; one special niece, Georgette Hogue (Ron) of Georgetown; and other numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by five sisters; and three brothers.

The family will receive friends 12 Noon – 1 PM Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Ridgeway Funeral Home
