Juliet Pereira Almeida, 85, widow of Vitor Lopes Almeida, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024, at her home.
Born on September 6, 1938, in Newark, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Albano Pereira and the late Alice Lelubre Pereira. Mrs. Almeida was a vibrant soul whose love for dancing, traveling, shopping, listening to music, and cherishing moments with her family defined her joyous journey through life. An ardent animal lover, Mrs. Almeida found solace and joy in the company of her beloved furry friends, a testament to her compassionate and caring nature.
Together the Almeida’s owned the Deason's Motel in Georgetown and the Hotel Baltum in Portugal. These ventures were a source of pride and joy for Ms. Almeida. Her flair for arts and crafts was an avenue through which she expressed her creativity, bringing beauty and color into the lives of those around her.
Survivors include two children, Vitor Almeida (Madeline) of Jacksonville FL and Pauline Seebode (Sean) of Georgetown; two granddaughters, Juliet Almeida and Victoria Almeida both of Georgetown; two step grandchildren, Nico Marti of Crawfordville, FL and Desiree Marujo of Myrtle Beach; three step great grandchildren, Madison Marti of Andrews, Damon Marti of Crawfordville, FL and Ava Marujo of Myrtle Beach; one great niece, Nicole Mendes of Cape May, NJ; two great nephews, Alexander Mendes and Michael Mendes both of Cape May, NJ; a great-great niece, Danae Mendes; and two great-great nephews, Julius Mendes and Liam Mendes both of Cape May, NJ.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Isabel Alves, Josephine Dinis and Grasiela Pereira; and a special friend, Vera Darlene McDonald.
Services will be private.
