Judy Faye McKnight Shelton

Judy Faye McKnight Shelton, 70, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

Born on August 3, 1954, in Hardin County, KY, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Oliver McKnight and the late Thelma Irene Duke McKnight. Ms. Shelton was a US Air Force veteran and obtained a master’s degree in social work. For many Ms. Shelton worked as a social worker with the Board of Disabilities and Special Needs and also worked with the Georgetown Family Justice Center helping victims of domestic abuse.

Along with her love for helping others, Ms. Shelton enjoyed reading, listening to music, taking pictures, motorcycles and most of all spending time with her fur babies. Over the years, Mrs. Shelton had established a well know reputation for her role in delivering newspapers, especially The Georgetown Times.

Survivors include one daughter, Felicia Paulette Hastings of Georgetown; one granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Welch (Christopher) of Georgetown; three great grandchildren, Paighlynn Judy, Braxton Welch and Bristol Welch; one niece, Sarah Lambert (Griffin) of Georgetown; her beloved dog, Luna; and several other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph McKnight; a sister, Sandra McKnight; her second mother, Mary Barron; and a special "sister", Toni Lewis.

Services will be held at a later date.
