John Henry Elliott, Sr., 80, widower of Linda Faye Goings Elliott, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Blue Ridge of Georgetown.
Born on April 20, 1941, in Andrews, he was a son of the late John Otis Elliott and the late Betty Mae Ackerman Elliott. Mr. Elliott was a founding member of Andrews Free Will Baptist Church of the Pentecostal Faith and was a tug boat captain for International Paper Company for many years.
Survivors include two children, John Henry Elliott, Jr. of Myrtle Beach and Randy Elliott (Polly) of Georgetown; three grandchildren, Jessica Renee Elliott of Sumter, Emma Caroline Brooks (Justin) of Jacksonville, NC and Randy Otis Elliott (Lindsey) of Georgetown; one great grandchild, Hazel Erin Elliott of Georgetown; one sister, Bonnie Mae Michau of Georgetown; two brothers, Eddie Elliott (Sharon) of Georgetown and Billy Elliott (Barbara) of Lexington, KY; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Sheryl Ann Elliott; a son, Brian Elliott; a daughter-in-law, Zeta Kathryn Elliott; and one sister, Louis Parker.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Arthur McElveen officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church.
