Jodie J. Parsons

Jodie Josiah Parsons, 65, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2024, at MUSC in Florence. 

Born on July 4, 1959, in Georgetown, he was a son of the late Albert Earl Parsons and the late Virginia Thornal Parsons. Jodie retired from Georgetown Steel after more than 30 years of service. He had a remarkable love for his animals and enjoyed fishing and spending time on the river. His connection with animals and his love for spending time outdoors brought him immense joy, and he often shared stories of these times spent. These simple pleasures in life were where Jodie felt most at home.

Survivors include a daughter, Brandie P. Cribb (James) of Andrews; two sisters, Lynn Duke (Curtis) of Andrews and Mary Jordan (Davy) of Andrews; two brothers, Larry Thornal (Dorothy) of Andrews and Bert Parsons (Cookie) of Moncks Corner; a brother-in-law, Edward L. Edwards of Summerville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanie Wilson Parsons; second wife, Theresa Howard Parsons, daughter, Toni Cassleman Parsons; a stepson, Brandon M. Johnson; and a sister, Harriett Parsons Edwards.

Graveside services will be held at 3 PM Monday, November 4, 2024, in Andrews Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM Monday at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
