Jil Carol Engdahl Swails, 67, wife of William T. “Bubba” Swails, Jr., passed away October 20, 2024, in Florida.
Born on December 22, 1956, in Kenosha, WI, she was a daughter of the late Harold Alvin Engdahl and the late Patricia Canter Engdahl. Mrs. Swails was a devoted caregiver, dedicating her career to nurturing and taking care of children, a career that resonated with her deeply and was far more than just a job-it was her true calling.
Mrs. Swails cherished the simple pleasures of life – reading, listening to classical music, playing the piano, baking delightful treats in her kitchen, and playing board games was a source of joy and solace for her. She was always up for company, if you were in the mood for coffee, cappuccino or an espresso. Mrs. Swails was also an avid sports fan and loved watching Clemson, Carolina Panthers, Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bulls play. Above all else, Mrs. Swails cherished her family and always looked forward to celebrating themed holidays with them, no matter how small the occasion.
Survivors include her husband of Andrews; four children, Arthur Swails (Nahid) of Irmo, Scarlett Swails (Valeriy Kipelov) of Tampa, FL, Randy Swails (Andrea) of Columbus, MS and Kristie Swails of Andrews; a daughter-in-law, Carol Swails of Andrews; 13 grandchildren, Liam Swails, Ava Swails, Yana Kipelov, Chelsea Moorhead, Devin Swails, Seth Swails, Josie Lockhart, Luke Swails, Magen Cormier, Ty Swails, Tripp Swails, Landon Criddle, Mary Swails and Melody Swails; 12 great grandchildren; three sisters, Pam Wisse of Kenosha, WI, Kim Corradini of Dade City, FL and Susan Barreto of Tampa, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, William T. "Billy" Swails, III; and a daughter, Melody Swails.
