Jewel F. Burton Mozley, 73, widow of William “Bill” Mozley, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Morningside of Georgetown.
Born on March 9, 1946, in Georgetown County, she was the daughter of the late James H. Burton and the late Alma Rogers Burton. Mrs. Mozley was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church where she served as a former Sunday school teacher, choir director, church pianist and actively involved in many other church ministries. She served as the financial secretary at First Baptist Church of Georgetown for 25 years and also a secretary for International Paper Company. Mrs. Mozley had a great love for people and a radiant smile that would light up a room.
Survivors include two daughters, Janice Boatwright (Ken) and Donna Price (Rich) all of Georgetown; three grandchildren, Brittany Boatwright of Chattanooga, TN, Billy Mozley-Price of Georgetown and Ryan Mozley-Price of Georgetown; one brother, Bobby Burton (Margaret) of Georgetown; and numerous other local family members.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Lakewood Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Deeter officiating. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday at First Baptist Church of Georgetown.
