Jane Andrews Burkette

Jane Andrews Burkette, 73, wife of Ronald Burkette, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

Born on August 21, 1951, in Georgetown County, she was a daughter of the late Ralph Berry Andrews and the late Cecile Mary Lessard Andrews. Mrs. Burkette spent her career in the service industry, working at the River Room for many years, owning a pet store and being a care giver. Mrs. Burkette had a great love for gardening and her pets.

Survivors include her husband of Georgetown; three children, Donnie McLeod of Columbia, Melissa Prosser of Myrtle Beach and Jennifer Cherry (Jason) of Andrews; four grandchildren, Brittany Cooper (Nick) of Georgetown, John Michael Cherry (Alyssa) of Kansas, CC Cherry of Andrews and Brayden McLeod of Chapin; a brother-in-law, Eugene Reid of Surfside Beach; a niece, Denise Reid of Florida; and a nephew, Chris Reid of Murrells Inlet.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Reid.
