Hollis Young

1943 — December 11, 2019

Hollis Young, 76, husband of Alice Faye Poston Young, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at his home.

Born on July 19, 1943, in Georgetown, he was a son of the late Dayton Young and the late Sudie Coker Young. Mr. Young was retired from International Paper Company, Woodlands Division and had a great love for hunting and fishing. Along with his love of the outdoors, Mr. Young loved his wife, family, friends and Mingo Creek. Mingo Exxon will need to find a new Round-Table Mayor.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Alice Faye Poston Young; three daughters; Wendy Pope (Richard), Buffie Level (Kirk), Vonda Kay Davis (Russell); a daughter of his heart, Beverly Ann Poston; seven grandchildren, Megan, Matt (Angela), Malony, Mara, Morgan (Josh), Mason, and Joshua; 11 great grandchildren; two brothers, Clarence Young (Etta) and Rick Young; three sisters, Sara Jordan, Lois Ellis (Ronald) and Judy Young; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Y. Coker.

Celebration of Life service will be held at 3 PM Sunday, December 15, 2019 at The Backwoods Quail Club, 647 Hemingway Lane, Georgetown, SC 29440.  The family is requesting that you dress in "Hollis Approved Attire".  If you have a photo or memory you'd like to share, the family requests that you write them down or bring along a copy; they would love to hold onto and share these memories.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests (per his wishes) donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to Log-a-Load for Kids, 8977 County Line Road, Georgetown, SC 29440
