Helen Edwards Moore, 98, widow of William L. Moore, Sr., passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Prince George Healthcare Center.
Born on September 16, 1919, in Hancock County, GA, she was a daughter of the late Carl Edwards and the late Esther Ivie Edwards. Mrs. Moore was a member of First Baptist Church and the Esther Fidelis-Ruth Sunday School Class. Mrs. Moore enjoyed sewing, crocheting, making quilts and spending time with her family.
Survivors include four children, William L. Moore, Jr. (Marie) of Georgetown, Ron P. Moore (Linda) of St. Augustine, FL, Martha M. Burkehart (Byron) of High Point, NC and Steve E. Moore (Sheila) of Johns Island; seven grandchildren, Cheryl Stone (Danny) of Georgetown, David Moore (Kellie) of Miami, FL, Karen Hudgins (Randy) of St. Augustine, FL, Laura Burkehart of Sacramento, CA, Holly Benton (Troy) of Durham, NC, Graham Moore (Courtney Fuller) of Seattle, WA and Lydia Moore (Jeremy Plauger) of Auburn, AL; 13 great grandchildren; and two brothers, Carl Edwards of Louisville, KY and James Edwards (Brenda) of Hancock County, GA.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Kielek and Elizabeth "Lib" Richburg.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday, January 5, 2018 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Ted Sherrill officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church parlor.
