George Wayne Inman, 54, passed away Monday, February 12, 2024, at his home after an extended illness, surrounded by his family and friends.
Born on August 22, 1969, in Conway, he was the son of Katherine Dickson Inman and the late Wayne Inman. George graduated from Georgetown High School and Joliet Junior College and was a member of the Joliet Electrical Union. Following in his father’s footsteps, George worked with his father as an electrician for many years and later started his own business. George enjoyed skiing, skateboarding, and surfing and at 16 years old, George and his sister owned Beach Break Surf Shop on Front St. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed their time going to the lake skiing and fishing. Above all else, George loved his family with all his heart, especially his two grandchildren who called him G. Daddy.
Survivors include his mother; a sister, Debbie Smith; two children, Josh Inman and Summer Inman; the mother of his children, Amy Owens Inman; grandchildren, Gabby Inman and Hayden Inman; a nephew, Joey Smith (Anne Kennedy); a niece, Heather Smith (Tres Long); two uncles, Plowden Dickson (Rosslyn) and Larry Inman (Patsy); an aunt, Janet Haigh (Stuart); and numerous great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Pauline Inman and Plowden and Katherine Dickson; step grandfather, Herbert Rowell; and a nephew, Jon Ashley Smith.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Lakewood Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Manning Cemetery in Manning, SC.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.
