George Francis Hanson

George Francis Hanson, 92, widower of Florence Hanson, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Grand Strand Medical Center.

Born on June 28, 1932, in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late Bernard F. Hanson and the late Frances Henderson Hanson. Mr. Hanson was a member of St. Mary, Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church and was a US Marine veteran. He retired as sergeant from the New York City Police Department after 23 years of service. Mr. Hanson was an outgoing man who enjoyed walking on Front St., spending time at the Wedgefield Pub and playing golf.

Survivors include his children.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Friday, February 7, 2025, at St. Mary Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow in the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
