Gene Lee Morgan

Gene Lee Morgan, 80, husband of Peggie Parris Morgan, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2015 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Born on April 12, 1935, in Shelby, NC, he was the son of the late Oscar Lee Morgan and the late Thelma Wright Morgan. Mr. Morgan was a member of First Baptist Church and the Lide Williams Sunday School Class and enjoyed playing golf. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Peggie Parris Morgan of Georgetown; a daughter, Geanenne Morgan Kelly of Georgetown; a daughter in law, Yvette Floyd Morgan of Georgetown; four grandchildren, Chelsea Morgan of Astoria, NY, Morgan Kelly of Georgetown, Samuel Kelly (Ashelynn) of Wake Forest, NC and Spencer Morgan of Georgetown; and one sister, Gayla Morgan Rikard (Larry) of Fallston, NC. He was preceded in death by a son, Mitchell Lee Morgan; and a son in law, Terry Lee Kelly. Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM Thursday, April 16, 2015 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Ted Sherrill officiating. Burial will be at 11 AM Friday, April 17, 2015 in Rose Hill Cemetery in Fallston, NC. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday at First Baptist Church.
