Douglas Ray Byrge, 88, widower of Ina Griffith Byrge, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at his home. Born on October 6, 1934, in Shady Spring, WV, he was a son of the late Earl Arthur Byrge and the late Myrtle Mae Smith Byrge. Mr. Byrge was a retired US Air Force veteran and was the owner of Doug’s Maintenance Service. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, collecting “odds and ins” and was always ready for a trip to West Virginia. Above all else, Mr. Byrge loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and hunting with his brothers. Survivors include four children, Barney Byrge (Reyne) of Wisconsin, Teresa Paschal Bellue (Stephen) of Georgetown; Tamela J. Byrge of Georgetown and Trina R. Johnson (Chris) of South Port, NC; a daughter-in-law, Tammy Byrge of Georgetown; 10 grandchildren, Jessie Byrge (Maria), Jeremy Byrge and Mike Byrge (Tina) all of Chilton, WI, Lindsey Paschal Mobley (Brian) of Chester, Heather Paschal Rose (Anthony) of Bremerton, WA, Nicole Paschal Murphy (Marshall) of Georgetown, Lorna G. Bellue of Georgetown, Carrie A. Byrge of Georgetown, Skylar Johnson of South Port, NC and Sydney Johnson of South Port, NC; 14 great grandchildren, Landon Paschal, Isabella Sierra Paschal, Liam Murphy, Addison Mobley, Olivia Mobley, Weston Mobley, Charlotte Rose, Lillian Rose, Taylor Byrge, Haley Byrge, Emma Byrge, Chloe Byrge, Nick Schneider and Mikayla Juedes; three brothers, Charles Byrge (Tonda) of Woodstock, GA, Jimmy Byrge of Shady Springs, WV and Eddie Byrge (Sandy) of Charlotte, NC; one sister, Vivian Esposito of Pinellas Park, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Byrge; and several siblings. Graveside services, with full military honors, will be held at 4 PM Saturday, April 22, 2023, in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the graveside.
