Doris Poston

Doris Virginia Goings “Frog” Poston, 69, widow of Mickey Allen Poston, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Prince George Healthcare. Born on December 8, 1952, in Georgetown, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Madrick Goings and the late Eva Small Goings. Mrs. Poston retired from Kensington Elementary School after working 26 years in the cafeteria. She enjoyed fishing, camping, reading and being with her family. Survivors include three sons, Jamie Poston (Karen) and Craig Poston (Emmy) all of Georgetown, and Chad Poston (Tiffany) of Andrews; six grandchildren, Tyler Poston, Emily Poston, Seth Poston, Katelynn Poston, Mickey Allen Poston, II and Kyle Poston; one step grandchild, Austin Wilder; three great grandchildren, Hadley Poston, Sawyer Connelly and Tatum Thomas; three sisters, Susan Turner of Andrews, Agnes McCaw of Suffolk, VA and Jennifer "Peanut" Harrelson (Donnie) of Georgetown; two sisters-in-law, Marie Goings and Marcia Goings both of Georgetown; a special caregiver, Suette Mickel of Georgetown; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Joe Goings, Sam Goings, John Junior Goings, Earl Goings, LC Goings and Linwood Goings; and two sisters, Frances Sanders and Linda Elliott. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, December 3, 2022, in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Friday at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
