Loring Lee “DK” Reeves, 94, widower of Agnes Smith Reeves, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Born on March 23, 1927, in Georgetown, he was a son of the late George Washington Reeves and the late Josephine Lambert Reeves. Mr. Reeves was a member of Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church and attended First Baptist Church. He was retired from International Paper Company and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include one daughter, Wanda Reeves Coleman (Rick) of Georgetown; three grandchildren, Scott Pierce (Heidi) of Moreno Valley, CA, Lindsey Linton of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Jessica Coleman of Myrtle Beach; five great grandchildren, Michael Pierce (Victoria) and Gavin Pierce both of Georgetown, Mekih Lumb Malik Lumb and Makayla Lumb all of Lake Mary, FL; a special grand daughter-in-law, Kristy Pierce of Cheraw; a special caregiver, Jeanette Perritt of Conway; a special nephew, Lavern Reeves (Debbie) of Moncks Corner; special friends, Billy and Marsha Sports of Georgetown; and numerous other nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by a son, Terry Reeves; four brothers; and three sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 4 PM Friday, May 14, 2021 in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens with Dr. Ted Sherrill officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
