Deloris Evans, 82, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Prince George Healthcare Center. Born on September 23, 1941, in Georgetown, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Mattie and John J. Evans. Deloris, affectionately known as "Dee", was a star athlete at Howard High School, best known for her skills on the basketball court. After high school, Dee moved to Miami and began a career in culinary arts. After 2 decades in Miami she returned to her hometown to continue her love for cooking. Dee was well known for her sense of humor and love of laughter but also her no nonsense attitude. She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Mattise Fraser and Jacqueline Evans; three grandchildren, Karla-Unique Boone (Tony) , Micah Evans and Jayla Grant (Devin); one brother, Jeff Evans (Pauline); nine great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by nine siblings. The family appreciates your love and support. A memorial service will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the Soul Saving Station Church.
