Jesse David Paschal, 72, beloved husband of Gail Howell Paschal, passed away Friday, June 23, 2023, at MUSC.
Born on November 11, 1950, he was a son of the late Clarence Elmo “Pat” Paschal and the late Betty Holtzscheiter Paschal. David was a member of Screven Baptist Church growing up and as an adult was a member of First Baptist Church in Georgetown for over 50 years. He also was an active member of Pawley’s Plantation Country Club and Men’s League. Growing up, David loved spending time on Pawleys Island where he enjoyed surfing. He worked hard at International Paper Company for 47 years as an instrument electrician. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix or build.
David was loving, caring, and always willing to help others. He was smart, charismatic and had a genuine zest for life. David was 100% “a Paschal” through and through. He was always on a project of his own or helping someone else with theirs. David built 5 beautiful homes where he raised his family and loved his bride of 53 years. His wife, Gail was always by his side (unless he was golfing or playing cards). Above all, his family was the most important thing to him.
He was a good son, a strong brother, a loving husband, a wonderful dad, a proud grandfather and a friend to many. To know David was to love him. He was one-of-a-kind and will be missed.
David leaves behind his loving wife, Gail Howell Paschal; two daughters, Betty Regina Paschal and Melissa Lee Paschal; a brother, Raymond Curtis Paschal (Sandra); six grandchildren, Shelby Eades Ucroz, Abigail Ann Eades, Broderick David Eades, Mattilyn Paschal King, Jesse Ryan King and Sloan Betty Moulder; four nieces, Lindsey, Heather, Nicole and Necole; five nephews, Jimmy, Lee, Brett, Timothy and Shell; an uncle, Eddie Lawrence Paschal; brother-in-law, LB Howell (Sheila); sisters-in-law, Yevonne Morris (Alton) and Connie Allen (Randy); and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jessie Bernice Holtzscheiter; an uncle, Ret. Lt Col Earl Holtzscheiter; and brothers, Clarence Elmo “Buddy” Paschal and Philip Paschal.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Monday, June 26, 2023, at First Baptist Church.
