Charlie Irwin

Charles Ervin “Charlie” Irwin, 59, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2020. Born on January 14, 1961, in Georgetown, he was a son of the Shirley Lambert Gailey and the late Robert E. Irwin. Mr. Irwin enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Survivors include his mother of Georgetown; two sons, Chuck Irwin (Melissa) of Sylva, NC and John Irwin (Brittany) of Franklin, NC; seven grandchildren, Summer Irwin and Savannah Irwin both of Sylva, NC, Penny Laine Irwin, Maggie Mae Irwin, Arthur Michael Irwin, Hunter Irwin and Hailey Jo Stanley all of Franklin, NC; three sisters, Patricia Ward (Leroy) of Georgetown, Barbara Latham of Odenville, Alabama and Teresa Davis (David) Andrews; three brothers, Kerry Terry (Jan) of Conway, Ron Terry (Karen) of Galivants Ferry and Dallas Gailey (Brenda) of Jamestown; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his step father, Tommy Gailey. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will follow in Holmes Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
